Something unexpected is happening in the middle of the AI revolution: the real differentiator is back where many had stopped looking — in accumulated human experience.

And it makes complete sense. Companies of every activity, nature and size have entered, almost inevitably, one of the most complex periods of transformation in decades. This isn't a change of tool; it's a change of era, driven by several forces at once.

A change of era, not a change of tool

Rarely have businesses had to manage so many fronts at the same time:

Each of these forces alone would already justify rethinking how a company is run. Together, they redefine the rules of the game — and at a speed that leaves little room for trial and error.

What AI does well — and what it cannot do

As companies accelerate AI adoption to gain efficiency and speed, something impossible to replace becomes ever clearer: expert human judgement. AI can process information at an unreachable scale, spot patterns we miss and automate tasks that used to take days. In short, it can help us decide better.

But we still need something no machine reproduces: judgement. And judgement shows up precisely in the moments when the data isn't enough.

Judgement can't be downloaded

When I talk about judgement, I mean very specific capabilities:

None of this is learned from a manual. It develops after years navigating real transformations, crises, growth, conflict and decisions with real impact on business and people.

The paradox of abundance

So, paradoxically, the more accessible knowledge becomes, the more valuable is whatever cannot be downloaded, automated or improvised. When everyone has access to the same computing power, the advantage stops being the tool and returns to who uses it — and with what judgement.

What the data says

This isn't just a hunch. The World Economic Forum, in its Future of Jobs Report 2025, estimates that 39% of today's key skills will change or become obsolete before 2030. And yet, among the capabilities that will gain weight are precisely the most human ones:

All deeply tied to what isn't learned overnight, nor improvised with a good tool.

The strategic balance: AI + experience

I believe we're entering a moment where the competitive edge will no longer belong only to whoever adopts AI first, but to whoever knows how to combine it best with expert human talent. Technology to transform; human closeness and judgement to accompany the change and hold people steady while it happens.

It's not AI or experience. It's AI plus experience. That's the balance that separates companies that merely digitise from those that genuinely transform.

And you… do you think AI is eroding the value of experience, or making it more valuable than ever?
